Went to pu on a Sunday afternoon and was super busy as expected. Once we checked in the process went quick.
Due to a computer system error at a Surrey location, this port moody location were able to squeeze us in last minute for a hitch installation. They were professional, efficient, and super friendly. They could have turned us away - but did not. Great customer service, would highly recommend them to anyone. Only logistical complaint - hard to navigate through the lot and parking is minimal
Rented a van to save money on a couch purchase from Costco. (The company they use wanted to charge ma flat $150? no thanks) Booked online no problem. People working there were nice and accommodating. The van was relatively new and in great condition. Only two small complaints. One I had to wait a bit inline to rent the van. Only one person at the desk at the time. The other is don't believe the $1995 price. Once they throw in miles, taxes and other fees it came out to just under $50. Make sure you fill up the gas tank to past the original placement. They will charge you over .50 cents the normal gas prices per litre not put in. Still...saved myself $100 doing it myself.
Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Do not rent from UHAUL anywhere in the lower mainland unless you are prepared for major disappointment. I would gladly have paid a lot more money with another company for better, reliable service had I known what I would be in for with UHAUL. I should have known better because the last time I rented a UHaul for a move the truck they gave us was on its last legs and the tires were so threadbare that one blew right out in the middle of nowhere on the Coquihalla. Then we rented one for a shorter move within the lower mainland and the tire blew on that one, costing us hours waiting for them to take responsibility and fix it. Flash forward to this past week when we reserved a 15 foot van for Coquitlam/Port Moody and a pick up time of 10 am today. I asked three times this week for confirmation that the van would for sure be available in Coquitlam for 10 am and three times I was assured it would be. They did NOT say Well we cant guarantee anything. Its based on availability. I was told it would be there. We got people lined up to help (one of whom actually booked the day off work). Then yesterday I got a conformation email stating that the moving van would be available for pick up at 10 am way out in Matsqui Abbotsford. I called them and told them there had been a screw up and that the van we had scheduled was for pick up in Coquitlam. They told me too bad. Thats the way it is. So this morning at 8:30 we were on our way to drive the hour and a half out to the Abbotsford location with all our helpers here ready to load it. I called to ask a question about something and was informed that there was no van waiting for us. Despite the fact that I had written confirmation that there would be and had already checked in and pre paid online. Then I was told that there were no other vans available in the entire lower mainland. They said there may be a van returned around 5 pm to the Abbotsford location. After seeing how upset we were ( the people I had to help were only available for a limited time and we had to be out of our house by a certain time) they offered me a measley $50 credit on my account. I said that would not even cover my gas from here to Abbotsford, reminding them the van had been reserved for TODAY. FOR 10 AM. FOR COQUITLAM. They could not care less. My family is now in a horrible position and it is too late for me to get other accommodations. Uhaul is rude, opportunistic, disorganized and between the last three times Ive used them has cost my husband and I at least a thousand dollars in lost wages, hours and items broken when the tire blew on the van on the Coquihalla. THEY DO NOT CARE. BUYER BEWARE!!!
Very nice employees and fast service. There is a.problem regarding parking your own vehicle. Lack of parking spots.
