This is one of our preferred spots but the last time the staff goofed up when we left. I note that the food is great but the portions seem to be shrinking. Service was pretty good. My wife has a small appetite and she couldn't eat her entry. So she asked for a take away. The staff happily did that, but when we got home, we got the order from someone else -- pork tacos. She doesn't eat meat and my diet restrictions don't allow me to eat it as well. So we called the Originals and identified the error. No call back or acknowledgement. So we waited two days and called again -- no response. Tried again in 2 more days and again no call back. This lack of even an acknowledgement indicates that out of sight, out of mind. This strikes me as very strange, VERY DISAPPOINTING
Enjoyed a nice meal on the patio and the staff were very friendly and super accommodating as we had our dog! We shared .... Carve Asada - it was very flavourful but the meat was pretty tough. 3 tacos - these were delicious!! **The highlight was their homemade tomatillo sauce which was amazing and their black beans! We will definitely go back to try other dishes!
Very good food, really fresh. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. Prices are extremely reasonable especially for the quality. Nice atmosphere and overall a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely come back again for the food.
This family owned and operated restauant is truly a gem in Port Moody! A little slice of Mexico awaits you, with all the vibrant colors and fresh spices and local accents and art! Hidden inside the charming, home-like atmosphere of Original's Restaurante Mexicano is a journey into another country, as Original as you can get.I loved meeting the various family members who work there who are all so friendly and of course, authentically Mexican!Much can be said about the delicious food but I would have to write a novel! Suffice to say that it is the best I've had since my times in Mexico. Everything is made fresh! Vegan and Gluten Free people can eat here, no problem! The friendly staff are very accommodating! A MUST for anyone wanting a trip abroad without leaving their seat.
