I very disappointed with this course, we didn't learn any new stitches and we paid 65 dollars for the course plus 6. 50 for the treads, it didn't even include the needles or hoops. So impossible to finish the work at home. Additionally the design was imposed and there was NO chance to select something different. Sorry you need to improve The working space was rally inconfortable too =(
You can tell that Jill is passionate about teaching others. I had a wonderful time during the Pillow Making class, and was met with creativity and patience. She is always available to help and was ready to answer my many questions. The studio also has a wide range of fabrics for purchase, and there's a colour and pattern for everyone. I can't wait to be back, and I love my pillow!
This place is a haven to escape to when its time to get creative. You can bring in your own project to work on or get inspired by the fabrics patterns and kits on offer. Jill will help you get started and offer advice to complete your project. She is a highly skilled dressmaker and pattern maker. You will love the atmosphere here!!!
I took an introductory serger class there, and I really enjoyed that the class was only 4 people, so that we were all able to get hands on experience and get all our questions answered. It is a pleasantly cozy place, they even offer tea and biscuits there, so you feel super welcome. The teacher was always attentive to our needs, gave a lot of valuable advice, and was very passionate, experienced and knowledgeable in the subject. I had a blast, got some new skills, and will definitely take more classes there.
I was disappointed with the embroidery classes. They are overpriced and I learned almost nothing new. Here are some suggestions to improve the classes: I think it would be better if customers were allowed to pick one of several designs and the class should begin with a simple demonstration of the stitches to be used. If we are just going to be given a hand-out there is no point in going to a class! There should also be a continuous follow-up of each project during the class. Finally, the classes cost $65 CAD plus $6.50 for the materials. At the end of the class we were informed that the materials didn't include the hoop or even the needle! (That means we paid $6.50 for 4 threads, which cost less than 3 dollars at any retail store).
