After following and admiring from afar on instagram I finally made an appointment here with Lisa. Ive had many bad experiences so I asked to have a consultation before booking my appointment so that I could put my mind a bit and ease, and the stylist could see what kind of hair I have. This seemed to be out of the norm and they made me feel a little uncomfortable... but she did answer my questions. At my appointment when I got there Lisa barely did my hair at all or spoke to me. I was passed off to Another assistant who washed and blow dried my hair and coloured it. Meanwhile Lisa was having an intense conversation about online shopping right next to me. I found this very strange... as usually hair stylist want to get to know you as a new client... and make you feel comfortable... especially as I had asked for a consult and she knew my insecurities. Finally it was time for my cut. I have really thick wavy hair and I need someone to debulk and give me shape, and some bangs. She didnt seem to understand the type of cut I wanted, nor agree but just kinda went for it. I didnt feel comfortable, or reassured but decided to rely on the fact she must know what shes doing being the owner and all. Again the whole time I was ignored and she spent it making fun of her receptionist to another coworker who she called incompetent. Then there was a problem upfront with some customers because the receptionist was new. Something was wrong with the computer and no one knew what to do. Lisa was trying to figure it out and the whole time badmouthing the receptionist. It was awkward for me and to see the client that was waiting as well... so I was left hanging and waiting. I didnt think I was near done, and finally she comes back and is like there you go. My hair didnt feel like she took enough of the bulk out or done much at all... but she didnt seem like she cared enough and I didnt want to risk getting a worse haircut. Over all my experience was very unprofessional and very impersonal. She didnt seem to care at all about me, or what I wanted and I definitely wont be going back. Especially for what I paid. Very disappointed.

I started going to Mint after years of going to Suki's I thought I would make a change since it is so much closer to home. I will be going back to Suki's after a few bad experiences here at MINT. Myself and both of my daughters had some bad cuts (jagged layers put in where layers were not asked for and bangs cut way too short so they would stick straight out. I had a bad colouring there where I had asked for a straight forward all over colour and the colour was way off. I left with crunchy, hard, dull hair. I don't think that my hair was even washed properly. In addition I don't know how many times I was hit in the head with the hair dryer. Not sure if this person even had the credentials to be a stylist. I was told my color needed to sit for about 30 minutes and almost an hour later no one had even checked on the process. I had to ask if I was forgotten about. After this I expressed my dissatisfaction over it. I was still charged full price but told I could come back for some toner to make it darker but would need to pay to have my hair dried (sure I''ll just leave with a wet head in the snow). Next time I would be available would be almost a week from now.I feel bad writing a negative review but I think people should be warned. I, like many people don't have the time for this nonsense. It's worth the drive to go somewhere with qualified stylist who listen to what the client wants. I recommend you save your time, money, and hair and go elsewhere.
I walked in here yesterday with no appointment and the idea of getting extensions added into my pixie short hair. After being told it would be super expensive I asked if they could just do a cut and colour. To my surprise, they fit me in right then and there and got to it. About 3-4 hours later I walked out looking like a brand new me. It was super busy in the shop and I was fine with coming back another day but they made it work. Team work + extremely talented hair stylists/colour specialist! Thank you for making me feel pretty again
